LHS Welcomes Mr. Lacere Churchill, Visiting Teacher from Uganda

Mr. Churchill, Head Teacher at Sir Samuel Baker School in Uganda, is visiting LHS until Friday, Jan. 27. He is co-teaching with Ms. Hemme and Ms. Dykstra. Mr. Churchill is a participant of Invisible Children’s Teacher Exchange, a program designed to help both Ugandan and international teachers improve their teaching methods.

 

Online Registration for AP Exams Begins Monday, Jan. 30

Online registrations for the 2012 AP exams will begin Monday, Jan. 30 and continue until Tuesday, Feb. 7. AP teachers will be handing out the registration information to students in their classes.

  • Exams are regularly $87 per exam with a one time $3 for the online registration.
  • The late registration window will be Wednesday, Feb. 8 through Friday, Feb. 10 with an additional charge of $15 per exam.
  • Students needing financial assistance must see Ms. Nachtrieb in the Counseling Office by Friday, Jan. 27.

Parent Teacher Conferences, Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 15 & 16

Plan now to attend parent teacher conferences on Feb. 15 & 16. The Online Scheduler will be available for parents beginning Wednesday, Feb. 8 through Wednesday evening, Feb. 15.

  • Drop-in conferences: 3:15-8:15 PM

Thursday, Feb. 16, no school for students

Register for Spring Sports by Friday, Feb. 24

Interested in playing girls soccer, girls tennis, girls golf, track, baseball, or boys swim/dive? Clearance for spring sports began Tuesday, Jan. 17. All athletes need to be registered and cleared by Friday, Feb. 24 before the first day of practice, Monday, Feb. 27. The Athletic Office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM and closed during lunch, 12 to 1:00 PM.
