Art Club, Friday, May 18
Attention all LHS artists. The LHS Art Club wants to meet you. If you want to get involved come on down to Mr. Causer’s room (that’s room 110) Friday, May 18, at lunch. We will be meeting to talk about next year. You don’t have to be Picasso, but Michaelangelos are appreciated. You don’t have to be good, just have to love to create. Peer Ambassadors, Friday, May 18
Today, Friday, May 18, is our final meeting of the year. Please meet in the library at lunch to welcome next year’s Peer Ambassadors. Lunch will be provided!

Congratulations new National Honor Society officers for 2012-2013! President Payton, Vice-President Bethany, Recording Secretary Greta, Treasurer Sarah, Parliamentarian Kevyn, and Publicist Hannah! Way to go!
Congratulations MESA
Congratulations to the MESA Science club for winning 1st place in the cardboard boat challenge. We were able to beat the Berthoud club with a craft of amazing design. Loveland MESA brought 4 crafts to the event. Way to go MESA!
Congratulations Key Club
Congratulations to the LHS Key Club. This past weekend at District Convention, Key Club was awarded First Place for their Single Service Project and First Place for their Year in Review scrapbook created by Erin. Cristin received the distinguished Treasurer award and Andrea received the Distinguished Secretary Award. Austin was awarded the District scholarship and Danae won a trip to International Convention in Florida. Cristin also won a drawing for a Leadership Conference in Bailey. Way to go Key Club!
Robotics Places 7th at Regionals
Loveland High Robotics team competed this past weekend at the FIRST Regional Competition at DU against 48 other teams. We placed 7th and captained an alliance team for the finals. We made it to the quarter finals with our highly successful robot that shot basket hoops and balanced on a bridge. Great job, Robotics!
LHS Knowledge Bowl Team Takes Second
Congratulations to the LHS Knowledge Bowl team, which took 2nd place in the 5A regionals at Fossil Ridge last Saturday! Team members were Ceryse, Katie, Megan, Kelsey, Christine, and Alisha. Way to go!
LHS Ocean Science Bowl Team Places First
The LHS Ocean Science Bowl team took FIRST place at the Colorado regional competition and will now be going to NATIONALS in Baltimore, Maryland in late April! The team is Dalton, Nabeel, Solomon, Kayla, and Bridget. Also, one of our Science Bowl teams took 4th place in the Northern Colorado Regional competition! That team was Dalton, Nabeel, Solomon, and Gavin. Congrats to all!
B.I.O.N.I.C. (Believe It Or Not I Care) Team
The LHS Peer Ambassadors are starting an outreach program called the B.I.O.N.I.C. (Believe It Or Not I Care) Team to support students and staff who are experiencing challenging times. The Peer Ambassadors will follow up on your referral ASAP by reaching out to the student, staff member and/or the family with a card and small gift to let them know we care. Thanks for your help!
If you know of a student or staff member who experiences one of the following:
• Hospitalization
• An illness or health condition that results in absences from school for more than a week
• A death in the family
• Or if there is a tragedy at another school
Then:

Ping Pong Club, Thursdays in February

Card Tricks Club, Fridays
Are you interested in learning card tricks? If so, come to room 103, Fridays at lunch.
Science Bowl Practices, Mondays and Fridays, Lunch
If you are interested in Science trivia or do really well in your science classes, we would love to have you join. We will meet in room 608 at lunch on Mondays and Fridays. Anyone interested in competing on our Science and Ocean Sciences Competition teams, should show up and get to know how we practice and prepare for the competitions. If you have any questions see Ms. Halvorsen. Join us for lunch on Mondays and Fridays!
